I love going to Snowdonia for my holidays. Mountains, rivers, lakes, beautiful beaches, historic castles, steam trains and not forgetting the ice-creams, oh yes. You haven’t lived until you try a Choccywoccydoodah. I would describe it but then I might start drooling like Homer Simpson, so you just have to try it for yourselves.
When it comes to tourist attractions, this part of North Wales is so compact. One minute you are in Beddgelert surrounded with misty coloured mountains, rivers and forests and next you are on a soft sandy beach at Morfa Bychan. Take the steam train at Porthmadog to Caernarfon and sit back and enjoy the awe-inspiring scenery. Caernarfon at night! Walking through the old street with the Castle lit as the backdrop: Beautiful. To my eyes, Snowdonia is as close to a perfect holiday destination as there can be. There is just one thing you need to know: Don’t go in August.
