Did you know there are many award wining wines created in Wales? It may not yet rival California, Rioja or Bordeaux but there are many vineyards producing great wines right here in Wales. One of these vineyards, 'Pant Du' is literally on our doorstep, within 10 minutes walking distance from Ashcoast House.
'Pant Du' is on the stunning slopes of the Nantlle Valley, a part of North Wales better known for its slate than its grapes. Planted on the south facing slopes of the Nantlle valley, at the foothills of Snowdon. This has clearly been a labour of love. A family run business with a shop and café on site. Spectacular views of the Snowdonia mountain range can be seen to the North East, and panoramic views of the sea to the West, an idyllic location to spend an afternoon, sampling the award winning wines, cider and apple juice, whilst enjoying the natural beauty of Snowdonia.
Well done Porthmadog. Officially the hottest place in the UK. Temperatures in North Wales reached new heights on Sunday, with Porthmadog reaching 27.8°C, according to the Met Office. That makes North Wales hotter than Barcelona, Monaco and Lisbon. Although the Met Office, is being cautious about a super hot summer saying advanced predictions are generally unreliable, others are forecasting this summer will be a cracker.
