In Snowdonia for a holiday? When it comes to dining out you are spoilt for choice.
When it comes to dining out, there are so many good choices, from little cafés to family friendly pubs serving good food and award winning restaurants. There is something for everyone and every budget.

Inspired by the Kate Humble's 'Off the Beaten Track' program on the BBC, where she goes skinny dipping in Llyn Cwm Silyn, we decided to revisit this Llyn on the high plains above Talysarn in the shadow of the Nantlle Ridge.
When it comes to tourist attractions, this part of North Wales is so compact. One minute you are in Beddgelert surrounded with misty coloured mountains, rivers and forests and next you are on a soft sandy beach at Morfa Bychan. Take the steam train at Porthmadog to Caernarfon and sit back and enjoy the awe-inspiring scenery. Caernarfon at night! Walking through the old street with the Castle lit as the backdrop: Beautiful. To my eyes, Snowdonia is as close to a perfect holiday destination as there can be. There is just one thing you need to know: Don’t go in August.

Ifor Pritchard was an artist and art teacher at Ysgol Sir Huw Owen, in Caernarfon.
He grew up in the village of Carmel near the Nantlle Slate Quarries. Some of his early paintings have a very haunting feel. Always evocative, always beautiful. If you are interested, Google him to see more of his paintings.
Oh that does bring back happy memories...
